SUPPORTING YOUNG FILMMAKERS IN THEIR CREATIVE EFFORTS

Wicked Wales Film supports young people interested in the creative industries, helping to bridge the gap between their learning and work.

We are a community-based organization with an office for our volunteers at Good news Church, North Wales delivering locally, nationally and internationally.

Locally - Wicked runs a pop-up community  cinema  programmed by young people and the community.

’Something Wicked’ was the  Podcast  presented by Chad and Rob which has kept our audiences engaged through lockdown reaching over 10,000 views and growing. This has progressed into Rhyls first Horror Film festival called 'Rhyller Thriller'

Nationally – Wicked has spearheaded the development of a festival network in Wales, The ‘Wales Youth Festival Network’  WYFN  bringing together over 30 festivals in Wales.

Wicked is very happy to be supporting a group of talented young creatives Ffilm Ifanc/Young Film. Ffilm Ifanc as creative leaders in Wales are searching out the emerging filmmakers in Wales and helping to get their films on the big screen and watched by audiences, both in Wales and Internationally.

Internationally - For the last 9 years Wicked has delivered its International Youth  Film Festival  screening short films made by young filmmakers and supporting international film productions. Since lockdown, we have embraced new digital working and our festival in 2024 will again be a hybrid version making the most of all opportunities online and face to face.

Aspiring to make the Connections and an Equality of opportunity for all young people in Wales
